According to some resources the game came form France. On the one hand the first country, in which card games appeared was China and the first game with 25 cards and 5 suits appeared in Persia, on the other hand, it was France, where gamblers began to play with decks with 4 suits: spades, diamonds, clubs and hearts. So, there are still a lot of questions and disputes about the game of Poker. In the USA the game appeared in New Orleans and it was spread all over the country. The game of Poker became very popular nearly at once, but then it was a little different from the game we play now.
