There exist at east 4 types of poker players. Each of these styles has strengths and weaknesses, and each of these styles can be profitable in the correct situation.
Each of these types has at least two basic attributes.
Whether the player is loose and play a lot of hands or tight and play very few hands.
Or the player can be either aggressive or passive. An aggressive player has the following features: he bluffs and raises while a passive player calls the bets of other players.
Loose-Aggressive
In an online poker environment this is the weakest category. This player gambles according to the following principle: he raises after every flop. Their strategy often works against poor players and will win a lot of small pots, but online, these players will go broke quickly. Sharks are often attracted by such players. The sharks are fine with letting these players have 10 small pots; they are after the three large pots which will eventually break this player. The only advice here is not to stick to one and the same table. It is better to change tables every 50 hands.
Loose-Passive
They are no more stronger than the first group. These players can only make money in a game with a lot of wild players and generally have to depend on luck to have a successful poker session. These players always call other players’ bets disregarding their strength. Unlike other players these ones can stay in the game for a very long period of time. But still even they are not able of beating the house.
Tight-Passive
What allows players of this type to win is other players who play the game wrong. Such players are easy to notice. Players of this type never bluff. This player is more likely to call the bets of other players or to make small bets. If not, they will fold.
Tight-Aggressive
This is the best type among all others. These players will only see a flop with a decent hand and will then take a shot at the pot after the flop with a bet. Internet Poker Advice.
