Poker is popular all over the world. On the one hand it is based on the card games, which were popular several centuries ago in Europe, on the other hand, the modern version of the game is an American game. There exist several Poker variations, but they don’t differ from each other greatly, the principle is the same. You will find no problems if you know and understand the main principles of the game. Poker is a game of betting and card combinations. Traditionally the strongest hand available is a combination of 5 highest-ranking cards, there are poker variations, in which the best hands are different. When playing High/Low poker there can be two players, who can win and then split the pot. The player who has the strongest hand and the player, who has the weakest hand are the winners. Players make their bets and put the chips in the center of the table, which is called a pot. You can compete for the pot only if you agree to meet the highest bet made by another player. Because of this rule, players are able to bluff and win the pot. To win the pot is the objective of the game. A player can win the pot in one of the two ways. After all bets are in, all players that are still in show their hands. The player who has the strongest hand is the winner. The player can make a very high bet, which will not be supported by other players. In this case other players have to fold and the player with the high bet is the winner without showing his cards. All cards of the 52 card deck are used. The cards are dealt one at a time, clockwise motion (number of cards varies with game). Aces are high, but aces rank low in the sequence A-2-3-4-5.
