While each poker player has their own unique playing and decision making style, there are basically only four main categories of players. Belonging to this or that type players have both strong and weak points and all of them have advantages over others in some particular situations. Each style is based on two attributes: Whether the player is loose and play a lot of hands or tight and play very few hands. Whether the player is aggressive or passive. An aggressive player raises and bluffs a lot. A passive player prefers to call the bets of other players. Loose-Aggressive In fact it is the weakest category in online poker. These players are constantly raising before and after the flop. In a real casino such a strategy will allow to win only small pots, but in online casinos they will be only a flop. Loose-Aggressive players attract sharks. The sharks are fine with letting these players have 10 small pots; they are after the three large pots which will eventually break this player. To avoid such results it is better for such players to change tables from time to time. For example, every 50 hands. Loose-Passive The players of this type can also be said to be weak. They typically will simply call the bets of the other players disregarding the Pot Odds or strength of their hand. Unlike other players these ones can stay in the game for a very long period of time. But still even they are not able of beating the house. Tight-Passive What allows players of this type to win is other players who play the game wrong. Such players are easy to notice. Players of this type never bluff. This player is more likely to call the bets of other players or to make small bets. They fold if they have a bad hand. Tight-Aggressive This is the best type among all others. These players will only see a flop with a decent hand and will then take a shot at the pot after the flop with a bet.
